Karachi Police Chief Ghulam Nabi Memon has tested positive for COVID-19 coronavirus on Saturday (today).

AIG Ghulam Nabi Memon is said to have quarantined himself at his home. Meanwhile CIA DIG Arif Hanif has been given additional charge of the AIG Karachi.
The development comes as earlier, NCOC revealed that Pakistan’s COVID-19 positivity rate has been increased by 40 per cent in the past few days.
Muzaffarabad, Hyderabad, Karachi and Gilgit-Baltistan are the areas with the highest COVID-19 positivity rate, said NCOC.
Remarking transport sector, markets, marriage halls, restaurants and public gatherings as high-risk areas, NCOC has urged provincial governments to ensure all essential steps in order to curb the virus spread.
Pakistan’s COVID-19 tally stands at 327,063 cases in total, with 6,727 deaths so far. The country reported 847 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, along with 12 casualties.
