Karachi hit by a massive dust storm on Tuesday (today), with various parts of city being subjected to strong winds and receiving rainfall as well.
The city was gripped by gusty winds with people running for cover from dust and debris in several areas. According to Sardar Sarfaraz – Director PMD, thunder clouds have developed over Karachi with winds blowing from the northwest direction.
Three people are said to have been killed in Karachi in various incidents across the city. The deceased include a child who was killed after a wall collapsed in Sher Shah area.
Areas effected by dust storm include NIPA, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulzar-e-Hijri Scheme-33, Malir, DHA and others.

Meanwhile, Qayyumabad, Surjani Town, New Karachi, Yousuf Goth, Taisar Town, Khuda Ki Basti, Shahrah-e-Faisal, II Chandigarh Road and Kemrai reported light rainfall as well.
Dust storm and rainfall is a significant relief for the Karachiites who were subjected to the prevailing heatwave in the city with temperatures reaching up to 43 °C.
The dust storm also resulted in power outages in several areas was suspended after the storm hit the city. These areas included Malir, Shah Faisal Town, Tariq bin Ziyad Society, Model Colony, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Jackson Market, Orangi, Landhi and Korangi.
