Face masks have been made mandatory in Karachi amid increasing COVID-19 cases in the metropolitan city.
According to Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalwani, face masks have been made mandatory in Karachi due to increasing coronavirus cases in the city.
SHalwani has warned that violators who fail to ensure the provision of face masks will be subjected to an Rs 500 fine.
The development comes as earlier, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah while presiding over Corona Task Force meeting at CM House, urged the public to strictly adhere to COVID-19 preventive guidelines and SOPs.
Murad Ali Shah highlighted that coronavirus cases have shown significant surge in Karachi and Hyderabad.
Sindh has reported 579 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, with 380 cases reported in Sindh alone.
