Authorities are set to begin anti-polio drive in Karachi from July 20, after a gap of three months due to coronavirus crisis.
As per the details, Sindh Emergency Operation Centre for Polio will conduct anti-polio drive in the two districts of the metropolitan city.
The anti-polio drive will be carried out in District Central and District West of Karachi and will prioritize the children under five years of age.
Meanwhile, the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) such as gloves, face masks to polio workers will be ensured who will carry out the anti-polio drive in more than 22 union councils (UCs) of these two districts.

The anti-polio drive will be carried out from July 20 to July 23, after the approval of Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday (tomorrow).
The development comes as federal government, on Saturday, announced to resume anti-polio drives as 58 polio cases have been reported in the country in 2020 so far.
It is to be noted that the last anti-polio drive in the metropolis was carried out back in March, and anti-polio initiatives were completely suspended due to coronavirus threat.
