Sindh government failed to collect animal offals from Karachi, remains at various dumping points, causes difficulty in breathing.
According to details, citizens of Karachi are making animal sacrifice on the second day of Eid-ul-Adha, but the city government and the solid waste management authority of Sindh has been failed to collect the offals timely despite the orders of higher authorities.
Meanwhile, Secretary Local Government Roshan Ali Sheikh inquired from the MD Solid Waste Management Board about the latest situation on the relief operation of the slums and issued orders to make the sanitation situation in the city more eficient and effective.
Sindh Local Government Secretary Roshan Ali Sheikh has been visiting various areas of the city, union councils, altars and dumping points since the first day of Eid-ul-Adha and is constantly inspecting the relief operation and sanitation situation.
In this regard, Roshan Ali Sheikh demanded a detailed report on the performance of MD Solid Waste. MD Solid Waste informed Roshan Ali Sheikh that on the first day of Eid offals were collected continuously from all areas of the city and the process is still on across the districts.
But the situation of ground is entirely different, local government staff is busy in collecting offals but the measure dumping points are stanching and people living near dumping points are complaining for the unbearable smell, causes trouble in breathing.
Secretary Local Government Roshan Ali Sheikh said that the logic behind the mass sacrifice was, in fact, to get rid of the piles of dirt on the streets, intersections and roads. But despite this, a large number of people sacrificed outside their homes and in their neighbourhoods, which leads to filth and filthiness.
