Matsuda Kuninori – Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan lauded, paid homage to Pakistan’s polio workers on Monday (today).
In a statement Japanese envoy – Matsuda Kuninori, paid tribute to more than 285,000 polio workers in Pakistan for their efforts against polio virus throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr Matsuda Kuninori appreciated polio workers’ self-less devotion and commitment regarding the fact that they executed door-to-door polio virus inoculation campaign amid adverse circumstances due to prevailing coronavirus crisis.
The Japanese envoy lauded Pakistan’s successful nation-wide polio vaccination campaign which oversaw the immunization of more than 39 million children across the country.
Furthermore, Japanese dignitary underscored the fact that Japan has been supporting Pakistan in its anti-polio efforts since 1996 and has provided US$ 229 million under various programs, aid packages so far.
He also reiterated Japan’s commitment to assist, facilitate Pakistan in reducing immunity gap and protecting Pakistani children from polio virus.
