In another act of blatant violation of human rights, Indian government introduces domicile law in Kashmir replicating Israeli model of illegal occupation in Palestine
The fascist Indian regime led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced a new set of laws for Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir which are a replica of Israeli model of altering demographics in the occupied areas.

According to the new law, those who have resided for 15 years or studies for a period of 7 years appearing in 10 and 12 Class examinations in academic institutions in Jammu & Kashmir will now be eligible for permanent residency and domicile of Jammu & Kashmir. This legislation will change the demographic position of the illegally occupied valley having a clear Muslim majority. Moreover, children of central government employees will also get domicile certificates if their parents have resided in Kashmir for 10 years.
These laws are a replica of the racist laws and inhuman practices adopted by Israel in Palestine for decades.
The law has been enacted in a background where Indian occupied Kashmir is facing an 8 months long lockdown following Indian decision to exclude Article 370 from its constitution and ending the special status enjoyed by the valley.
Coronavirus has piled more misery on the region where the people, under a new lockdown, have had restrictions tightened further.
Global scholars have also raised their concerns and condemned the act of Indian government to colonize Kashmir. Palestinian affairs expert and Director of Centre for Islam and Global Affairs, Turkey Sami Al-Arian maintains “It’s a blatant attempt to colonise Kashmir and populate it with new and old colonisers to make Kashmir’s indigenous citizens a minority in their own land,”.
“The racist and unjust laws India has been enacting lately are similar to the racist laws and practices Israel has been applying in Palestine for decades, he told giving his interview to a UK based news agency.
It is to be noted that this domicile law will disenfranchise thousands of non-resident Kashmiri Muslims and those who are exiled from the valley since 1947.
Khurram Parvez, a human rights defender based in the region, said: “By virtue of this order, outsiders are also going to be the claimants of jobs in Jammu and Kashmir, which already has a huge unemployment problem. This is an act against the interests of unemployed youth.”
Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and his government has immediately condemned the said act and called on the international community to stop India’s continuing violations of the UNSC resolutions and right of self-determination of Kashmiris.
We must also become a voice of those millions of Kashmiris stranded in their homes and now are expected to become a minority in their own region. They must know that we will not enable India to make Kashmir, another Palestine.
