Islamabad: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Babar Iftikhar has announced that armed forces are fully active to contain the spread of novel coronavirus.
Speaking to a press conference he stated that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has directed the formation for help and medical facilities of all three armed forces have been prepared and armed forces are working in coherence with civil authorities to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Information Firdous Ashiq Awan also attended the press conference.
Dr Zafar Mirza has announced that a national dashboard has been launched which will provide real-time updates on the coronavirus cases across the country. Centre and provincial governments are performing their duties with full coordination. The federal government will get volunteer services of people belonging to the health sector. He added that private institutions and hospitals have also offered support to the government to fight coronavirus.
As of now, Pakistan has reported 381 confirmed coronavirus cases with 2 casualties.
