Islamabad: Authorities have unsealed the Rimsha Colony residential area of the federal capital after all its residents were cleared by screenings and tests carried out in connection with Covid-19.
According to the notification issued by office of the deputy commissioner, district health office has cleared Rimsha Colony in H-9 area of Islamabad after a detailed survey and screening of residents. The residential area was sealed on March 26.
The two residents who had contracted the disease have now recovered and their new tests came back negative, but they remain under doctors’ observation and will be tested a few more times before being discharged from the hospital, said Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Hamza.
However, the area will be subjected to the prevailing orders under CRPC section 144 on March 23.
Earlier, three residential areas in the capital – Bhara Kahu, Shahzad Town and Rimsha Colony were sealed after their residents tested positive for Covid-19.
Volunteers and workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had also distributed 500 bags of rations among residents of Rimsha Colony under the supervision of local administration and police. According to Farid Rehman – PTI Islamabad President, rations are being distributed with assistance from philanthropists and all necessary safety measures have been taken during the activity.
