Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif on Wednesday, met with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa to discuss bilateral ties between the two countries.
As per details, Javad Zarif called upon Chief of Army Staff General Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to mull overs matters of mutual interest and regional security issues concerning both nations.
During the meeting, General Bajwa stressed upon the significance of Pak-Iran cooperation and its impacts on regional peace and stability.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting also discussed matters pertaining to Pak-Iran border management and Afghan Peace Process.
Meanwhile, Javad Zarif lauded Pakistan’s progressive role in Afghan Peace Process and reiterated Iran’s commitment to further enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries for improved regional peace and stability.

In addition to it, Javad Zarif also met with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi at Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.
The two foreign ministers also expressed concern over the tendency of rising Islamophobia in some European countries and made it clear that blasphemous attitude in the garb of freedom of expression is not acceptable at all.
Bilateral issues were discussed along with matters pertaining to border management, promotion of mutual contacts, and provision of better facilities to the Zaireen.
They both agreed upon that Pakistan and Iran must capitalize from improved cooperation on regional and other important forums for bilateral trade, investment, security and other areas of mutual interest.
FM Qureshi also extended his condolences over the loss of lives in Iran due to COVID-19 pandemic.
He also highlighted Indian atrocities and grave human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir. Whereas expressing his views on Afghan Peace Process, Shah Mahmood Qureshi noted that Afghan leadership must make use of this opportunity to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.
