Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) – Lt. General Muhammad Afzal on Monday, stated that that international community has commended Pakistan’s efforts and policies against COVID-19 pandemic.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad Lieutenant General Muhammad Afzal stated that international community has praised and lauded measures taken by Pakistan against coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Expressing his views on the current COVID-19 situation in the country, Chairman NDMA said that the virus threat is not over and urged the people to exercise due caution and adhere to coronavirus preventive measures and SOPs to prevent further virus spread.
He also expressed gratitude to the people of China and Chinese government for providing essential medical assistance and cooperation that has proved monumental in Pakistan’s fight against coronavirus.
Lt Gen Muhammad Afzal lauded Chinese ambassador for his proactive role in facilitating between Pakistan and Chinese authorities regarding PPEs and other necessary equipment that was imported by Pakistan from China.
A plane carrying medical supplies has arrived in Pakistan and more supplies will reach Pakistan by August 31, he added.
Pakistan’s coronavirus tally stands at 286,674 cases, with 264,060 recoveries and 6,139 deaths so far.
