An Indian woman has reportedly approached Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking Pakistani citizenship.
Saba Ansar, an Indian national has reached out to LHC urging the court to issue directives to concerned authorities regarding granting of Pakistani citizenship.
Saba, who lives with her husband (who is a Pakistani citizen) near Multan road, is seeking granting of Pakistani citizenship and issuance of relevant documents by NADRA, Interior Ministry, DG Immigration and Punjab government.
In her petition, Saba Ansar contends that though she is an Indian national and married her relative who has Pakistani citizenship back in 2010, and has not been granted Pakistani nationality despite receiving security clearance from Punjab government.
My husband and three children are all Pakistanis, still I’ve only be granted a temporary visa so far, said the petitioner.
Saba Ansar has pleaded LHC to ensure the provision of her fundamental rights as prescribed in the country’s constitutions.
