Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav surpassed Pakistan skipper Babar Azam to claim the third position in the latest ICC T20I batters rankings on Wednesday.
In the first match of their three-game series against Australia on Tuesday in Mohali, Yadav excelled with a polished 46 for India, which helped him move closer to Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan at the top of the T20I batter rankings.
The right-hander jumped in front of Babar, with Rizwan now just 45 rating points in front of him.
With a career-high total of 825 rating points, Rizwan maintains a narrow lead at the top of the rankings after scoring a half-century in Pakistan’s defeat against England on Tuesday in Karachi.
