Indian forces, once again resorted to unprovoked indiscriminate cross-border shelling along the line of control (LoC) in the late hours of Friday.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian forces resorted to indiscriminate firing in Hajipir and Sankh sectors across the LoC using heavy artillery, mortar fire, rockets and automatic weapons.
A 30-year old woman named Nasreen Akhtar from Khwaja Bandi village, is reported to have received serious injuries as the result of Indian shelling. The woman is being treated in a medical facility close to the location, ISPR added.
Following the incident, Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) called upon a senior Indian diplomat to protest against the unprovoked Indian aggression along the Working Boundary (WB) and LoC, which is a clear violation of the 2003 ceasefire agreement between the two countries.
Prior to this, on Thursday, 34-year old Pakistan Army soldier, Lance Naik Ali Baz and and two civilians were martyred due to cross-border shelling by Indian forces in Kailer and Rakhchikri sectors.
According to government sources, India had committed 940 CFVs in the first four months of this year alone.
