India reported a record high daily tally of COVID-19 patients with 95,735 cases on Thursday (today).
As per the details, 95,735 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in India in the last 24 hours taking the country’s total coronavirus tally beyond 4.4 million mark.
Meanwhile 1,172 COVID-19 related casualties were reported in one day taking the country’s death toll to 75,062 casualties.
Earlier, India surpassed Brazil on Monday to become the country with the most number of coronavirus cases outside of the United States.
Maharashtra is the most affected state in the country recorded 23,577 cases in 24 hours along with 380 COVID-19 deaths.
Meanwhile, states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu reported 10,418; 9,540 and 5,584 coronavirus cases respectively.
India has a recovery rate of around 77.7 per cent, meanwhile the country’s mortality rate is said to be 1.6 per cent.
The daily positivity rate in the country is 8.4 per cent – a rise from Wednesday’s 7.7 per cent.
As per the World Health Organization (WHO) statistics, India has been reporting the highest number of daily coronavirus cases in the world for nearly a month.
