Former solicitor general of India Harish Salve revealed that India is trying to use back channel for getting Kulbhoshan Jadhav released.
According to Indian News sources, “former solicitor general of India Harish Salve, who represented captured Indian navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav in the International Court of Justice, revealed that India employed “back-channel” efforts to urge Pakistan to release Jadhav”.
Kulbhushan Jadhav – a retired Indian Navy officer, who was arrested by Pakistan during a spy mission and later sentenced to death by a Pakistan military court on charges of “espionage and terrorism” in 2017.
India went into the international courts of justice (ICJ) and tried hard to get her spy released, but the court rejects Indian plea and order Pakistan to grant consular access to him.
Salve revealed this during an online discussion, which was conducted by Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad, an all-India lawyers’ association linked with the extremist RSS.
In a land slide victory for Pakistan, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) declared jadhav a spy and declined Indian version of the story in July last year.
The court also request Pakistan to stay the execution of former Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav and allowed New Delhi consular access to him, which
The former solicitor general of India also said, “I think we have reached a point where we may have to decide whether to go to ICJ for further consequential directions.”
