Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Monday, lauded Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit terming it as a significant ‘milestone’.
Speaking in his virtual address at 9th Ministerial conference of Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation on Monday (today), President Ashraf Ghani termed PM Imran Khan has a major ‘milestone’ in Pak-Afghan ties.
Expressing his views on Pak-Afghan bilateral relations, President Ashraf Ghani noted that PM Imran’s visit has enhanced prospectus for regional cooperation and integration.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Minister for Economic Affairs – Khusro Bakhtyar also spoke at the forum highlighting that regional connectivity, through road network along with rail, aviation and ports is essential for unleashing trade and tourism potential in the region.
It is to be noted that PM Imran Khan had visited neighboring Afghanistan on November 19th last month. The visit included premier’s one-on-one meeting with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and other senior government officials.
The visit comprised of comprehensive talks regarding Pak-Afghan ties and mutual cooperation on security related issues especially Afghan Peace Process.
