Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to preside over federal cabinet which is scheduled to meet today in Islamabad.
As per the sources, the agenda of the meeting includes detailed briefing regarding the measures concerning COVID-19 situation in the country.
The federal cabinet is also expected to approve the decision exempting construction industry of sales tax, along with the issue of government employees not vacating official residences after retirement.
In addition to it, recommendations concerning the restructuring of competitive commission will also be included in the cabinet agenda. The meeting is also expected to approve the restructuring of the national commission on minorities.
Earlier, federal cabinet had extended the lockdown until April 28 in its previous meeting. Recommendations were also made to ensure strict and exemplary penalties and punishments for hoarders and smugglers amid COVID-19 outbreak.
A total of 9,216 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the country, with the death tally reaching 192 deaths.
