Prime Minister Imran Khan let PTI government is all set to present Rs 7.6 trillion budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2020-2021 on June 12.
As per the details, budget deficit is expected to be more than Rs 3,427 billion while Rs 3,235 billion will be spent on interest and repayment of loans, meanwhile an amount of Rs 1,402 billion is expected to be allocated to the defense of the country.
Furthermore, the growth rate for construction sector is set at 3.5 per cent, 1.4 per cent for energy sector, 2.8 per cent for services sector and 2.8 per cent for development growth rate.
In addition to it, the proposed budget is reported to have fixed agricultural target at 2.9 per cent, 2.2 per cent for major crops, whereas cotton growth target is set at 1.3 per cent for the next year.

Industry growth target is expected to be 0.1 per cent, 0.5 per cent for mineral growth target, while manufacturing sector growth rate is expected to be minus 0.7 per cent.
Budget sessions of both houses are expected to be held today in Islamabad under strict coronavirus SOPs and preventive measures. Parliament members will not be allowed to enter without face masks, and have to go through screening process before entering the parliament.
