Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan and Turkish President Erdogan, on Tuesday, discussed prospects of mutual cooperation to tackle coronavirus outbreak.
In a telephonic conversation with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister Imran Khan offered his condolences to his Turkish counterpart over the COVID-19 related deaths in Turkey. Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s abiding support & solidarity with Turkey, including in Turkey’s efforts to combat pandemic.
“Pakistan and Turkey have agreed to work together and reinforce each other’s efforts in the fight against COVID-19,” said the official statement.
Imran Khan expressed his gratitude for facilitating stranded Pakistanis in Turkey, as earlier on April 3, 194 Pakistanis were flown back to Pakistan who were stranded in Turkey due to travel restrictions amid COVID-19 outbreak.
Turkey has reported a total of 34,109 confirmed coronavirus cases with 725 deaths.
