Renowned educationist and Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Sukkur Vice Chancellor Nisar Siddiqui passed away on Monday at the age of 76.
According to family sources, Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui was being treated for heart and kidney issues for a week, and passed away on Monday (today) at 6 am.
His funeral will be held in Khairpur.
Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui became the Director (Vice Chancellor) of Sukkur Institute of Business Administration in 2004, after gaining wide experience in Management, Administration, and Academia at national and international levels.
He held a two Masters degrees in Economics and Education from University of Sindh Jamshoro, and was also a member of Pakistan’s civil service and served at various key positions including Deputy Commissioner of the District, Commissioner of the Division and Home Secretary.
He obtained his MBA with major in Finance from Boston University, USA and went on to Economics, Finance and Research Methodology at IBA Karachi campus. He also served Managing Director SITE (Sindh Industrial Trading Estate).
As Vice Chancellor IBA Sukkur, Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui strived to ensure the provision of qualitative education at low cost to the students of Sindh. Due to his efforts, IBA Sukkur is the only university in the country whose 70 per cent of the pupils are benefiting from university scholarships.
