A high value militant target belonging from Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is reported to have been killed by unidentified persons in Afghanistan.
Mufti Khalid – a high ranking leader of TTP and close associate of former TTP head Mullah Fazlullah, has been killed in Kunar, Afghanistan.
Local police sources say the Khalid, who belonged from Buner, was travelling when he was shot dead by unknown persons.
Mufti Khalid was wanted by Pakistan’s security forces for being involved in several terrorist attacks inside the country.
He was purportedly behind the suicide attack in a 2008 election rally and was also said to be one of the planners and facilitators of 2014 Army Public School (APS and 2016 Bacha Khan University attacks.
Prior to this CTD neutralized four TTP terrorists including a commander, in Quetta on May 26th earlier this week.
The killed terrorists included TTP commander Syed Riazuddin alias Thekedar and three others namely Fazal-ur-Rehman, Syed Ramzan and Syed Matiullah.
Following Operation Zarb-e-Azb and Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad in by Pakistan Army in tribal areas, TTP and other terrorist organization have been operating in Afghanistan and often launch cross-border attack on Pakistan’s security forces from Afghanistan.
