Karachi us currently going through a heatwave with temperature hitting 44°C mark on Saturday (today).
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), this is the first time since April 14th 1947 that the metropolitan city’s temperature crossed 44°C mark.
Humidity in Karachi has been recorded to be around 6%. PMD has advised people to abstain from going out in public and abstain from travelling between 11 am to 4 pm.
The prevailing heatwave is expected to wave-off from Sunday (tomorrow) with temperatures expected to be around 36°C to 38°C.
Dusty winds are expected in the city during the hot spell, said DG Met Department said.
Due to change of winds direction from southwest to north or northeast, hot to very hot and dry weather is expected to prevail in Karachi.
