A 15-day complete lockdown is set to be imposed in port city of Gwadar from Sunday July 25th (tomorrow) amid COVID-19 surge.
According to DC Gwadar, Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure will be imposed in all four tehsils of the port city.
The 15-day ‘complete’ lockdown will come into effect from Sunday July 25th tomorrow.
The decision to impose a complete lockdown has been made in light of the fourth wave of COVID-19 in Gwadar district.
As per the notification issued by DC, all shops, hotels and restaurants will remain closed, with the exception of a few shops that fall under essential services.
Meanwhile, dine out and takeaway services at eateries will also be allowed.
However, shops that are exempt from shut down restrictions, only visitors that are vaccinated and masked are allowed, provided they maintain social distancing.
Fishermen who are vaccinated will be allowed to enter the sea for fishing, whereas all fish markets will remain closed during this time period.
During the 15-day complete lockdown, all tourists, visitors are those of the Tableeghi Jamaat are prohibited from entering Gwadar in this period.
Parks, beach spots, playgrounds, etc will also remain completely closed.
