Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), said on Monday that the government had lost the writ in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan because of the widespread lawlessness, which made people’s lives and properties unsafe there.
Addressing scholars, students and other dignitaries at the Jamia Arabia Naumania Salihiya in Dera Ismail Khan, the JUI-F chief expressed concern over the declining public trust in the state and its institutions while highlighting the significance of their integrity, stability, and respect.
He emphasised the need to take prompt action to rectify the situation, avoid further errors and blunders, and avert grave repercussions.
Later, talking to the media, he reiterated that the elimination of the interest-based system was not only a manifesto for the JUI-F but it was also the foundation of Pakistan’s ideology.
He assured that the end of the interest-based system would be achieved within the stipulated timeframe with economic benefits bringing prosperity to the nation.
Fazl reaffirmed his party’s commitment to protecting both Islamic beliefs and democracy. He also said the JUI-F will counter dictatorship with strong faith and safeguard the mandate given by the patriotic people of Pakistan.
