Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to entrust Governor Sindh Imran Ismail with the administrative authority of Corona Relief Tiger Force in Sindh province.
The development comes after PM Imran Khan held a meeting with Special Assistant for Youth Affairs Usman Dar to discuss issues pertaining to the role of Tiger Relief Force in Sindh.
The meeting resulted in the decision to assign administrative authority to Governor Sindh Imran Ismail as the provincial government has refused to operationalize and utilize the voluntary relief force in the province due to ‘political reasons’.
Prior to this, Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh had stated, “No worker of any political party including the PPP will be part of this relief operation.”
Corona Relif Tiger Force is a voluntary force established on the directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan to assist civil administration in its efforts against the virus outbreak by taking part in ration distribution and other relief services across the country.
Corona Relief Tiger Force comprises of more than one million volunteers including 400,000 students, including 50,000 engineers, 45,000 teachers, and 5,000 lawyers, whereas according to Usman Dar, Sindh alone has 154,000 volunteers of Corona Relief Tiger Force.
