Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, on Thursday, announced that he has tested positive for coronavirus for the second time.
Imran Ismail took to social media to announce that his second coronavirus test has come back positive. “I got my much awaited retest results today, & against my expectations, tested positive again. I am grateful to all those who prayed for me. I’m trained to fight, Allah Almighty has given me strength to fight & I will,” he tweeted.
It is to be noted that Governor Sindh Imran Ismail had earlier tested positive for COVID-19 on April 27, following which he had gone into self-isolation as recommended by medical experts.
The fact that an individual can test positive for COVID-19 multiple times is not unusual at all. Prior to this Faisal Edhi – head of Edhi Foundation, had tested positive for COVID-19 multiple occasions before being tested negative for the third time eventually.
Several prominent political figures have tested positive for the novel virus, including National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, Rana Hamir Singh – PPP MPA from Sindh, Abdul Salam Afridi – PTI MPA from Mardan and Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani.
