Federal government is set to call the ‘longest’ National Assembly (NA) session in country’s history amid coronavirus crisis.
According to Babar Awan – adviser to Prime Minister on Parliamentary Affairs, the longest National Assembly session in the country’s history is expected to start at 4 pm from June 5 till August 13.
The session is being convened to fulfil the 130 mandatory days of a parliamentary year of the assembly.
As per the details, the session will oversee the presentation of the budget of the upcoming fiscal year and relevant legislations, constitutional amendments, modification in the Anti-Money Laundering Act and discussion and legislations over various other issues.
A summary is expected to be sent to President Arif Alvi, who will officially summon the session of the lower house of the parliament.
