Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court has directed federal ministers along with other government officials to leave within three days in accordance with the pre-elections rules and regulations.
The two-member bench comprising of Justice Malik Haq Nawaz and Justice Ali Baig on Friday, announced its verdict directing all federal ministers and government officials to leave the region within three days as per the standard pre-election code of conduct.
The court has directed Raja Shahbaz Khan – Chief Election Commissioner GB, Chief Minister and Chief Secretary to ensure the immediate implementation of the decision.
The development comes as a writ petition was filed over election code of conduct violations by federal ministers and government officials.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has accused federal government of pre-poll rigging by conducting political campaigns and unlawfully using government infrastructure for PTI’s election campaign.
Ali Amin Gandapur’s speeches are being telecast by several channels in which he is shown making electoral promises to the electorate, argued PPP Election Cell In-charge Taj Haider in his written complaint to Chief Election Commissioner GB.
