Gilgit: The Gilgit-Baltistan government on Thursday, declared that one more patient had died due to novel COVID-19 coronavirus as the region’s tally of confirmed cases reaches 92.
Speaking to a press conference, Information Minister, Shams Mir stated that death toll from the virus in GB had reached three after the death of an elderly confirmed case from Astore district.
According to the Minister, a total of 13 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in the region so far.
To curb the virus spread, a lockdown has been imposed in the Gilgit-Baltistan region which in fact has proved significant in containing the outbreak.
The government has announced that the distribution of ration to the needy people in the region would begin on April 5 as all business and educational institutions have been directed to close till May 1.
