SUKKUR: An alligator, who had allegedly escaped the local safari park has been caught from the Nara Canal area in Ghotki on Saturday evening.
The officials of the provincial wildlife department have confirmed that the 5 feet long and 40 kg heavy male reptile was on the run since eight days. The department had initiated its hunt week ago but it could not be found until Saturday.
It slipped into the canal in order to hide from zoo authorities. However, its escapade was interrupted today when it was seen by local villagers of Yousuf Laghari village scurrying into the canal.
The big lizard has been returned to the safari park zoo.
