Sardar Aif Mazari – a two time former MPA of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has been killed by his son in Rajanpur on Wednesday night.
According to details, Sardar Atif Mazari was shot by his son Basit Mazari, and was brought to Rajanpur District Headquarter hospital in ciritical conditions and later succumbed to his wounds.
Police officials say that an First Information Report (FIR) has been registered on behalf of Rehan Mazari , the deceased’s youngest son, and the dead body has been handed over to the family after postmortem.
Family sources have cited mental health issues of Basit Mazari as the main reason behind the incident.
Sardar Atif Mazari was an ardent PML-N supporter and leader, and was twice elected as MPA on PML-N ticket from Omar Kot area of Rajanpur district.
