Mumtaz Bhutto – former Governor and Chief Minister Sindh passed away at the age of 94 in Karachi on Sunday a day earlier.
According to family sources, Mumtaz Bhutto was also suffering from lung and heart disease for the last few years and he died of a cardiac arrest at his residence.
The deceased has left behind a widow and four children, including PTI leader Amir Bux Bhutto and journalist Ali Haider Bhutto.
Mumtaz Bhutto’s body will be shifted to Larkana for funeral prayers on Monday (today).

PM Imran Khan, President Arif Alvi and various other politicians and notable figures took to social media to express condolences over Mumtaz Bhutto’s death and pay homage to the veteran politician.
Political Legacy
A cousin and close aide of former prime minister and PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Mumtaz Bhutto became a member of the National Assembly at the age of 32 years on 5 March 1965.
When he and his cousin Zulfikar Ali Bhutto announced a new political party, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on March 30th 1967, he also became the founding member and principal executive committee member of the party.
He formed the Sindhi Baloch Pakhtun Front in 1986 with barrister Hafeez Pirzada during his self-imposed exile in London after Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s hanging.
Mumtaz Bhutto served as Governor Sindh from 1971 to 1972 and then as the provincial Chief Minister from 1972 to 1973.
In 1989, he parted ways with PPP and formed Sindh National Front (SNF), which he later merged with PML-N prior to 2013 General Elections, and later joined PTI in 2017.
