Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi is scheduled to attend 47th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on November 27th this week.
As per details, FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi will represent Pakistan in the 47th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC which will be attended by representatives from 57 OIC member states and five other observer states.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the session will mull over a wide range of issues of the Muslim world with specially alarming increase in Islamophobia and anti-Islamic narratives.
Other matters expected to be discussed include Palestine; Jammu and Kashmir dispute, situation of Muslim communities and minorities in non-OIC states, OIC 2025 Program of Action and various matters related to promotion of civilizational, cultural and religious dialogue.
The Council will also hold a brainstorming session on ‘Security and Humanitarian Challenges Confronting African Sahel States Members of the OIC.’
Furthermore, the foreign minister will accentuate the need for unity of the Islamic world to combat the scourge of Islamophobia and promote inter-faith harmony.
