Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday, met with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the sidelines of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers in Niamey today.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the two dignitaries exchanged views on bilateral relations, regional issues, cooperation at multilateral fora, and the Covid-19 situation.
The Foreign Minister extended felicitations to the Saudi leadership on successful convening of the G-20 Summit
FM Qureshi underscored that the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is deep-rooted and long-standing.
The two sides agreed on further deepening bilateral trade and economic cooperation including in the field of energy.
Furthermore, Shah Mahmood Qureshi apprised his Saudi counterpart of the continuing grave situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and stressed upon OIC’s importance as the vital platform for Muslim Ummah and its role in the advancement of the Kashmir cause.
Qureshi expressed gratitude for Kingdom’s principled and steadfast support for the just cause of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Saudi Foreign Minister reiterated the importance that Saudi Arabia attaches to its fraternal and strategic relationship with Pakistan and lauded Pakistan’s role in maintaining regional peace and stability.
FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi is in Niger to attend 47th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
