Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday, held a telephonic conversation with Turkish counterpart and expressed gratitude for Turkey’s support on Kashmir issue.
FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi during a telephonic conversation with Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu – Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, lauded Turkey’s continued principle stance and support on Jammu and Kashmir issue on various occasions and platforms.
Furthermore, FM Qureshi Discussed matters of mutual interest with a focus on Pak-Turk growing cooperation on regional issues.
“We deeply appreciate Turkey’s unwavering stance on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK),” Qureshi tweeted.
In addition to it, Shah Mahmood Qureshi extended official invitation to his Turkish Counterpart to visit Pakistan in near future.
It is pertinent to know that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his UNGA address had raised Kashmir issue, terming it essential to peace, security and stability in the region.
“The Kashmir conflict which is also key to the peace and stability of South Asia is still a burning issue. Steps taken following abolition of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir further complicated the problem,” said Turkish President.
