Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has expressed gratitude to Chinese envoy over the provision of COVID-19 vaccine to Pakistan.
Addressing a COVID-19 vaccine receiving ceremony at PAF Nur Khan airbase in Islamabad, FM Qureshi thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rongfor supplying Pakistan with Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine.
The foreign minister lauded Pak-China brotherly relations spanned across over almost seven decades.
Terming the COVID-19 vaccine a ‘gift’, Shah Mahmood Qureshi highlighted that once again China has demonstrated its everlasting friendship with Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong noted that Pakistan is in fact the first country to receive COVID-19 vaccine donation.
It is pertinent to know that a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) plane carrying 500,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses from China landed in Pakistan at Nur Khan airbase on Monday (today).
