Chairman of Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman has announced that this Ramazan Fitra amount is fixed at Rs 100 per person.
According to details, Mufti Mueeb ur Rehman stated that this year Fitra amount is calculated to be Rs 320 per head as per the price of barley, Rs 1,600 as per the price of dates, Rs 1,920 as per the price of raisin and Rs 3,540 as per the price of cheese.
He continued to clarify that if an individual is unable to practice fasting in the entire month of Ramazan, he should pay Rs 3,750 as Fidya (compensation) if the payment was to be made on the basis of flour price.
In case of barley the amount will be Rs 9,600; in case of dates – Rs 48,000; in case of raisin – Rs 57,600 and Rs 106,200 in case of cheese.
According to Mufti Muneeb Ur Rehman the idea behind the concept of Fitra and Fidya is the provision of two-time meal for a destitute person, which cost around Rs 125 a day
