Islamabad: Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, inaugurated the first ever mobile utility store in Islamabad on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Asad Umar stated that the first phase will oversee the establishment of eight mobile utility stores in the city. The second phase will include the expansion of this initiative to various parts of the country.
The initiative has been launched to help deserving families facing dire financial circumstances due to coronavirus lockdown.
These mobile utility stores will assure the provision of Flour, lentils and at lower rates. A package amounting to Rs 50 million has already been approved for this purpose, said Asad Umar.
Speaking to the press Managing Director Utility Stores Umar Lodhi stated, “We are launching mobile utility stores for far-flung areas,” and the announcement will be made via mosques to inform the public about mobile utility stores in the vicinity.
Prior to this, federal cabinet had already approved Rs1.2 trillion for the emergency relief package announced by the prime minister to provide financial assistance to people amid coronavirus lockdown.
