Islamabad: Federal government has launched a national level SMS service under the ‘Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program’ to provide financial assistance to the needy and poor amid coronavirus crisis.
Ehsaas Emergency Cash program has been established in wake of the economic hardships being experienced by the vulnerable due to the ongoing Coronavirus crisis.
Speaking to press Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan announced that Rs 12,000 will be transferred in the accounts of deserving people through this service.
According to details, people can send their CNIC number to 8171 and they will be informed about their eligibility for emergency cash. In the event of their being eligible, they will receive an SMS message informing them of how to collect money. If they are not identified in the database, they will be directed to contact their respective district administration.
Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Imran Khan highlighted the significant role of doctors and healthcare staff in this fight against coronavirus outbreak.
“Doctors, nurses and other medical staff are in the frontline of a battle against coronavirus,” he stated, adding that incumbent government will ensure the provision of all necessary protective equipment for their safety.
