Islamabad: Federal government has extended the ban on the operations of inbound chartered flights to April 11 amid COVID-19 outbreak.
According to the NOTAM issued by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), all inbound flights of international origins have been barred from entering Pakistani airspace as a precautionary measure to curb the virus spread.
“As per the decision taken by the government of Pakistan, suspension of operation of all international passenger, chartered and private aircraft inbound flights to Pakistan is extended up to Saturday, April 11,” the notification said.However, cargo and special flight operations carrying essential goods, medical supplies, flights of diplomatic nature, have been exempted from this ban along with PIA’s flight operation directed towards rescuing Pakistanis stranded abroad.
The notification also subjects these exempted flight operations to ensure the provision of all the healthcare preventive measures such as screening, swab tests etc.
