The development comes as Karachiites are facing prolonged power outages of up to 12 hours. K-Electric, the city’s sole electricity supply company, has cited fuel supply shortage for unscheduled load shedding.
However, SSGC and PSO have denied K-Electric’s claims stating that sufficient gas and oil supply is being provided to the power company.
Prior to this, National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on June 24, had directed K-Electric to submit a detailed report on the issue of unexplained and unscheduled prolonged power outages in the metropolitan city.
