Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has shortlisted total of 13 names including Faisal Vawda, Dr Sania Nishtar, Shibli Faraz and others for the March 3rd Senate elections.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting – Fawad Chaudhry took to social media to announce PTI’s shortlisted candidates for Senate elections.
According to the federal minister, the finalized candidates for senate elections are;
Sindh – Faisal Vawda and Saifullah Abro (technocrat seat)
Balochistan – Abdul Qadir
Punjab – Saifullah Niazi, Dr. Zarqa and Barrister Ali Zafar
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – Shibli Faraz, Mohsin Aziz, Dost Mohammad, Sania Nishtar and Farzana
Islamabad – Abdul Hafeez Shaikh and Fouzia Arshad
The development comes as Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced schedule for senate elections on February 11th a day earlier.
The Senate elections are being held for 48 new senators from across the country with the following distribution of seats;
- Islamabad – 2 seats
- Punjab – 11 seats
- Sindh – 11 seats
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – 12 seats
- Balochistan – 12 seats
