The federal government on Wednesday, announced to increase Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) pensions by Rs 2,000.
The federal cabinet on Wednesday, approved to increase EOBI pension from Rs 6,500 to Rs 8,500 after in increment of Rs 2,000.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistani, Sayed Zulfi Bukhari took to social media to announce the government’s decision to increase the EOBI pension and stated, “This is 2nd increase by this ministry, and done without putting additional burden on national exchequer, via increasing EOBI’s revenue.”

The pension increase will be considered to have taken effect and accounted from January 1, 2020, whereas the additional compensations will be initiated from August 1, 2020.
