DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar on Wednesday (today), apprised that efforts are being made for the arrest of TTP leader Ehsanullah Ehsan and action has been taken against those responsible for his escape.
In a statement, Major General Babar Iftikhar noted that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leader Ehsanullah Ehsan’s escape from custody is a serious matter and that necessary efforts are being made for his arrest.
Speaking to foreign media outlets, DG ISPR said that Ehsanullah Ehsaan’s whereabouts are unknown. Action has been taken against those responsible for his escape.
Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar also revealed that twitter account on Ehsanullah Ehsaan’s name used to threated Malala Yousafzai was fake.
Expressing his views on the issue of missing persons, DG ISPR informed that out of the total 6,000 cases, 4,000 have been solved so far.
Shedding light on the recent Machh incident, army’s spokesperson said that significant progress has been made in the case with arrests of individuals over their connection to the killings of Hazara community.
Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar underscored the fact that organized terror outfits have been effectively disbanded in Waziristan. However, recent terror incidents such as attack on NGO workers are ‘retaliatory tactics’ adopted by militants to target civilians and security forces alike.
In addition to it, DG ISPR accentuated India’s involvement in sponsoring and supporting terrorist incidents in Pakistan via Afghan territory.
India is responsible for providing weapons to banned terrorist organizations inside Afghanistan to stir unrest in Pakistan.
Pakistan has resorted to extensive border management via fencing Pakistan’s with neighboring Afghanistan and Iran. Iranian reservations regarding border-fencing have been duly addressed by COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa, he added.
