Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet today in Karachi for Zilhaj 1,442 AH moon sighting at PMD’s Met Complex in Karachi.
The meeting will be held after Asr prayers and will be chaired by Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee – Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
Representatives from Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), SUPARCONavy and Ministry of Religious Affairs will also be attending the meeting.
Meanwhile, the meetings of zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal committees will also be held today at their respective headquarters for collecting evidences in respect of sighting or other wise of the Zilhaj moon.
Astronomical parameters indicate that there is no chance of sighting the new moon of Zil Hajj, 1442 AH on the evening of July 10, ie on the 29th of Ziquad, 1442 AH.
However, the final announcement will be made by the chief of the moon sighting body.
According to climate data issued by the Met office, the new moon of Zilhaj will be born on the crossing conjunction point at 06-18 PST on July 10 and its age at the time of moon sighting will be less than 14 hours across the country, making it almost impossible to be sighted.
Eid-ul-Azha 2021 is likely to fall on July 21st later this month.
