KARACHI: Government of Sindh has allowed holding congregational prayers on Eid with a 20-point guidelines to be followed.
Sindh Information minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah announced on Wednesday announced that the Eid prayers can be held in the province, given the previously allowed SOPs laid out for praying in mosques after the lockdown ease are strictly adopted.
“People should pray for the country so that we can get rid of the coronavirus pandemic soon,” he said while addressing the presser.
Shah was accompanied by minister for education Saeed Ghani and the Sindh government spokesperson Barrister Murtaza Wahab.
Saeed Ghani added it was unjust to ban congregational prayers for Eid when all trade centres and shopping malls had been reopened in the province following the Supreme Court order.
He also announced that the government will identify spacious venues for the congregational prayers where social distancing measures could easily be followed.
