ISLAMABAD: The payments to underprivileged families under Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme will begin Thursday.
A sum of Rs12,000 each will be distributed among 12 million poor families hit financially owing to the ongoing lockdown as a Coronavirus pandemic containment directive in Pakistan. The disbursement will be made in the next two and half weeks after biometric verification.
The program has been allocated Rs144 billion which is a countrywide umbrella, and all provinces, including Federation, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir are to benefit from this platform.
Nationwide, 17,000 are being established to facilitate the distribution of stipends. A toll-free helpline number 0800-26477 has also been created for any query in this regard.
