Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), on Wednesday, dismissed contempt case against Firdous Ashiq Awan – former aid of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
A four-member bench of ECP heard the contempt case against Prime Minister’s former assistant on information – Firdous Ashiq Awan.
However, Khalid Mehmood – the petitioner was absent during the hearing.

It is to be noted that the case was filed against Firdous Ashiq Awan for her tweets dated back to November 23 2019, in which she had accused opposition political parties of threatening the election commission.
She had also accused opposition of wrongfully criticizing the electoral body for intentionally delaying the release of ‘Form 45’ in 2018 general elections.
Prior to this, Islamabad High
Court (IHC), last year, had also turned downed two contempt petitions against her.
