The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced its decision to install E-gates at airports across the country in a bid to further facilitate the passengers.
As per details, these E-gates will be installed at country’s major airports and will address the issue of long queues of travelers by timely execution of boarding process.
These E-gates will automatically scan passengers’ passports followed by issuance of boarding passes. Additionally, E-gates will also have facial recognition and fingerprint checking capability.
Travelers will only be required to have their tickets and passports with them, which will be scanned at these E-gates.
Provision of E-gates is aimed to ensure swift processing of passengers at airports for time saving. In the first phase, CAA plans to install E-gates at Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad airports.
